One hundred underprivileged youth from the Rome area are in for a big surprise on Saturday, May 17! As part of its Bikes For Kids program, Variety of Georgia – The Children’s Charity will present the unsuspecting children with brand new bicycles and helmets during a special event at the Rome Cinemas theatre. One child with special needs will receive an adaptive mobility bike during the surprise presentation to help overcome physical obstacles and provide therapeutic support. Through generous donations, Variety of Georgia, a non-profit dedicated to enriching, improving and fulfilling the lives of children living with disabilities and disadvantages, is able to keep the Bikes for Kids program alive. The initiative not only provides recreational, therapeutic and transportation opportunities for children in need, but it also offers them the freedom and independence to experience life. The bike presentation will take place following a FREE movie screening of “Rio 2” at the Rome Cinemas. Participating families will arrive at the theater at 9:30 a.m. to check in for the 10 a.m. show with complimentary popcorn and a drink. As the families exit the theatre, Variety of Georgia will reveal the awaiting bikes and helmets with each child’s name attached.
